Noah Mills

13gHe has definitely become one of the biggest names of the industry. With a perfect body and face this native from Baltimore (Maryland) is one of the most coveted male models of the moment working for the top fashion brands.

His most recent jobs include catalogues for D&G, Very Hollywood by Michael Kors, Dolce & Gabbana and Jones NYC. His face has also featured in top men’s fashion magazines like GQ, and he recently made a spectacular appearance in V Magazine’s Swimsuit 09 issue, that I showed before.

His career began in 2003, and in just two months he was making his debut, on a Parisian catwalk for Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent. His collaboration with Dolce & Gabbana began in 2005, and he’s now an icon of the brand. Photographers like Steven Meisel frequently work with him, and Annie Leibovitz chose his face for the ad campaign she did for Bottega Veneta in 2007. In 2009 he renewed his contract with Michael Kors, another brand with whom he has a close professional relationship. Enjoy some of his work:

Gucci: New Jackie

03

The new Jackie is one of the “It-Bags” of the moments. As usual Frida Giannini did not let us down and created this beautiful, coveted and perfect accessory – I want one of those -. Starring the always amazing and stunning Anja Rubik, Inez & Vinoodh photographed a simple but chic and sexy ad dominated by black that perfectly highlights the beauty of the new Jackie models.

The Jackie bag comes in a new size, and features its famous bamboo details. Gucci wanted to experiment with leathers to bring us new, interesting versions – metallic leathers with a violet effect and python skin in black and khaki tones. Jackie is Gucci’s new model for the coming autumn season, and the 12 great versions make it one of their must-have products. They are just amazing… A must of the season.

Diesel’s New Gold

Diesel’s New Designer

01It was announced this morning that Greek designer Sophia Kokosalaki is the new creative director of Diesel’s Black Gold line. ”[Kokosalaki's] talent is incredible. Her taste in high end fashion is already known, but what people do not necessarily expect from her is her skill in dealing with denim and contemporary casual, the core of Diesel Black Gold,” says Renzo Rosso, chairman of Diesel and its holding company, Only the Brave. “I hope this experience will give her the possibility to further affirm her place in today’s international fashion scenario”.

Diesel Black Gold could be called the “Haute-Couture” line of the brand, as it uses more expensive fabrics and the designs are more fashion-forward than Diesel and Diesel Denim Gallery. Black Gold made its debut during New York Fashion Week in February 2008. ”It is always inspiring to work with people at the top of their game. This is a very fortuitous time for me and my business,” Kokosalaki – who has also just acquired her eponymous label from Only the Brave – tellsWWD. It is not yet known what the London-based designer’s official title will be or which season she will start from.

beckham_armani_V_11jun09_PR_320x480Mr Posh Spice, created quite a commotion while the footballer was in London revealing his new Emporio Armani Underwear Campaign at Selfridges in he middle of Oxford Street.

“I don’t mind taking pictures in my underwear” said David Beckham. “It’s when the pictures are unveiled, like today, that it’s a bit embarrassing.”

Beckham, joined by his parents and wife Victoria, was introduced by sports presenter Gaby Logan and gave a short speech about the joys of getting naked in front of the camera, looking sharp and stylish as usual. ”It was a big night for us last night,” Beckham said. “It’s been a great campaign for England so far – seven wins out of seven. We’re not safe yet – but if we beat Croatia then we’re through.”

The fans and viewers went crazy, when the super star showed up, was kissed by his wife and style icon Victoria Bekcham and signed posters after the unveiling.

Versace’s New CEO

Finally Found

Di Risio Successor…

Versense

According to sources, Jil Sander CEO Gian Giacomo Ferraris is the New Top Man at Versace. Following the long anticipated announcement and all the buzz about Giancarlo Di Risio stepping down as CEO of the family-owned Italian house “by mutual consent”, it was only a matter of time before they replaced him.

Ferraris has reportedly been unhappy at Jil Sander since Onward Holdings Co. Ltd. bought the fashion house last September – but has so far declined to comment on the Versace whispers, WWD said.

Fashion Braking News… Gossips!!!

Fashion Braking News

Rumors has it…

Esteban CortazarIs Colombian designer Esteban Cortazar, leaving french house Emanuel Ungaro? According to a report on WWD, whispers began with a discrepancy between Ungaro management and the designer over the direction of the brand’s advertising and marketing strategy.

Rumors has it, Ungaro’s CEO Mounir Moufarrige wants to make future campaigns thinking in a celebrity-path direction – bringing a new life to the brand. Moufarrige has made no official comment.

Names of potential successors to Cortazar – the Columbian-born designer who joined the house in 2007 at the age of 23 – are not yet known. It is a sad story, because he is really talented and is the biggest name in the Colombian fashion industry, no one has got that far.

Meanwhile, it is official… after weeks of long conversations and several buzz, it was finally announced that Versace’s CEO Giancarlo di Risio has ended his time with the company by mutual consent.  There was so much speculation about it.

And, over at Mulberry, CEO Lisa Montague has resigned. Godfrey Davis, Mulberry’s chief executive and chairman, will take over Montague’s responsibilities, reports DRAPERSONLINE.COM. And that is all by today.

CFDA Nominees 2009

June 4, 2009 by Jo

The Battle Has Just Begun

Marc JacobsThe Battle is on… and everything goes for this year’s nominees. From suited man in a dress, a guy wearing bunny ears to bags as boxing gloves, the bring it all.

The CFDA Journal usually shows the nominated designers work showcased on models, but for the newest Journal, Creative Director Trey Laird, decided to have the 21 nominees feature their creations for the first time. The surreal shoot stars Marc Jacobs, Jason Wu and the Proenza Schouler duo, amongst others, lined up for photographer Craig McDean – who ensured that this year’s images would be far from the conventional headshots normally commissioned.

The event’s creative director, Trey Laird, was instructed by CFDA president Diane von Furstenberg to: “Capture fashion – do something fabulous,” says WWD. And what could be more fabulous than the designers wearing their own creations?

First Lady favourite, Jason Wu, donned an emerald green dress over his more traditional suit – What a first Lady can do… the power of Michelle – , while the Accessory Designer of the Year nominees – and one of my favorites: Proenza Schouler’s Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez – stepped in to the ring (Joking about the Kiefer Sutherland attack?… Hilarious) .

Marc Jacobs showed his lighter side as he struck a contemplative pose in a pair of the infamous Louis Vuitton bunny ears that Madonna wore at the MET. Jacobs is twice nominated for his eponymous label at this year’s awards, for Womenswear Designer of the Year and Accessory Designer of the Year. Just Genius, I love it!!!!
